Corruption on its own can't be tackled. Try analyzing the wider picture in India and it will soon dawn on us that there are other problems linked i.e. education, poverty, law and order, accountability, etc. Where do you start? It’s a vicious circle. These ailments are cancerous tumors and no Band-Aid solution can be sustainable in the wider scenario. The root of all this lies in governance. In my opinion only a new liberal political alternative can solve these issues. http://newindia.org.in

The best way is to avoid involving human minds in every activity. Computer, the biggest invention in the mankind, can make this happen. By computerising all our government offices, we can bring down red tapism. This will take care of large number of frauds. Also,it may be easy to catch people in India but not easy to punish them which encourages corruption. Therefore, a strong judiciary system is must.
11.
Eradication of Corruption is difficult but minimisation can be done by ~~~Privatisation of Government Bodies.

...Rs.10/- is the fee for all of this and govt. officer is bound to provide information in 30days; otherwise there is penalty on him of Rs.250/- everyday after this time limit. This is the only sunshine law which rights us to know anything from government. And when govt. proceedings are in open, corruption itself gets killed. You may mail me if you have a problem with any govt. department, I’ll be happy to glad you. My address: sunil.kumar101@gmail.com

Use of 'Right to Information' (RTI Act) is the only way to check and eliminate corruption in Indian Govt. This law fixes accountability of a govt. officer to provide desired information asked by any citizen of India. We can ask any information (except some exemptions) from any Government department or government funded organizations, inspect government records, file notings and ask opinions of govt. officers for what they do.

A process identical to punching of driving licenses should be practiced. For example, each govt servant will be given, say, 3 chances. First corruption compliant will mean 1st punching on the license and the employee's salary will reduced by 25%. The 2nd instance of corruption will bring it down to 50% and the job will be terminated after the 3rd. Conversely, if there are no corruption complaints reported for say 2 years, the employee will be rewarded with an additional monetary increment.
7.
instill a zero tolerance policy for offenders that have been found guilty, make it a condition of employment that if you are caught your details will be listed on a database viewable to any future employer stating that you were terminated from your role due to your involvement in corrupt practices.
6.
Groups of private sector employees to be used as auditors & complaint cell committee with severe penalties against corruption instances.
5.
Educate and re-educate the public using the media/movie stars to stop feeding the greedy. The Indian people need courage to stand up for themselves. A will to Look beyond the self. That can only happen with lots of emphasis on working together and blowing the whistle at every instance of corruption.
4.
Remove bureaucratic corruption by signing up secretaries to a ZERO CORRUPTION key performance indicator. These secretaries would not be from IAS but on contractual 4-year appointments and paid very well, but fired if corruption surveys of public perceptions indicate the presence of corruption in their departments. They will set up systems to completely eliminate corruption such as rewarding whistleblowers, hiring high quality executives to implement good systems. See ch.6 of my book.
3.
