Allow categorization of ideas, topics, and ability to sort by activity. I would also add the ability for profiles that users be invited based on query if participating openly.

Further to idea 10: if we wanted to make a profit in some way maybe we could become known for specializing in one area? Maybe marketing. We could specialize in challenges such as "What can I name my business?" or "How can I promote my business?"
19.
There's one thing that bugs me every time I use this site...and it's surprisingly petty: that the BrainReactions logo above can't be clicked on to take you to the home page!
18.
More the members, more the ideas. Increase the number of brainstormers. Existing brainstormers mau be offered incentives to make new members. These should be active members i.e. should regularly contribute meaningful ideas.
17.
yikes... just checked your brainstorm rooms... should be able to invite people to join a current brainstorm... eg i have a brainstorm for 2020worldpeace, and looks like i have to invent a new one, even though i want to invite those who have commented on the exisitng 2020 idea...
16.
definitely get some way for people to engage in an easy way... a comment system which is tagged to an idea, brainstorm, person... relative to a person, it creates a kind of tree structure, so i can explore a person's ideas... one comment somewhere replicates in other ares, so that it does not get lost one branch on some brainstorm somewhere...

get direct connection [s] to venture capital; in 33 yrs, and sending 2,000 packages, I have never ever had even one responded to yet.

Down to #1! Like a global classroom, there are all levels of expertise out here. A Users' Guide and FAQ additions would be helpful. And all those little incentive perkoids ideas...
12.
Also relevant to #3 & #9: I like to read the ideas from the oldest idea to newest, and there always seems to be some kind of evolution. Depends on the question, though. Some questions are just about getting mass ideas to sift through. Voting is great feedback; I don't want any more e-mail, personally. I don't vote for myself, but vote a lot for others. Maybe through counting those chads that you generate, the site could offer some other little goodie like a free extra, private brainstorm.

The issue of feedback and rewards is very personal (8-9), how about for every 10 ideas you drop into the stream, you get a squeaky (squeak it by clicking on it), red bouncing nose that you keep for the rest of your session that day. So if you come up with 10 more ideas that session, you can save it for your next session. Come up with 100 ideas and you can keep the nose as long as you are a registered user.

More idea competitions! Here's how it could work: BrainReactions could name a company and set a challenge (For example: 'how could YouTube be improved') and run an idea competition with small prizes. If the ideas are good, BrainReactions could contact YouTube, naming the best 100 ideas in the email. BrainReactions asks YouTube if they like the ideas and would like to run an idea contest, but with larger prizes for good ideas. Many companies could be contacted like this.

Agree with redbrowne and Kchin (3). One suggestion: what if the ideas are attached to the question in a more graphical way, like mind-mapping, so you can add to previous good ideas, see how they evolve, and how can they interact. Creative thinking need creative environments. Adding comments and new perspectives to the ideas will make people feel recognized. It would be great if feedback returns by e-mail.

I would love to either get feedback in the form of 'gee, thanks for your efforts' or specific feedback about what actually happened with the project. Although I have long worked as an Ideator and am used to working on my own in addition to being very comfortable online, brainsreactions.net feels oddly impersonal. (Hey I know we're supposed to be uber-positive but -) Some days I log in and zip across many of the open brainstorms and leave ideas. I never hear a word or even see a vote.
7.
Host a contest similar to "Seeds for Success" where entrepreneurial ideas are solicited and then selected to receive a grant to startup their business while receiving advice and guidance from successful business owners.
6.
Since a lot of these ideas concern business ideas, have a portion of the website dedicated to Subject Matter Experts that can dispense advice or tips on how to succeed.
5.
A way for brainstormers to contact each other or get together in groups by local area or community of interest.
4.
Maybe hosting brainstorming sessions where people can participate in real time with fellow brainstormers.
