Corruption on its own can't be tackled. Try analyzing the wider picture in India and it will soon dawn on us that there are other problems linked i.e. education, poverty, law and order, accountability, etc. Where do you start? It’s a vicious circle. These ailments are cancerous tumors and no Band-Aid solution can be sustainable in the wider scenario. The root of all this lies in governance. In my opinion only a new liberal political alternative can solve these issues. http://newindia.org.in

...Rs.10/- is the fee for all of this and govt. officer is bound to provide information in 30days; otherwise there is penalty on him of Rs.250/- everyday after this time limit. This is the only sunshine law which rights us to know anything from government. And when govt. proceedings are in open, corruption itself gets killed. You may mail me if you have a problem with any govt. department, I’ll be happy to glad you. My address: sunil.kumar101@gmail.com

Use of 'Right to Information' (RTI Act) is the only way to check and eliminate corruption in Indian Govt. This law fixes accountability of a govt. officer to provide desired information asked by any citizen of India. We can ask any information (except some exemptions) from any Government department or government funded organizations, inspect government records, file notings and ask opinions of govt. officers for what they do.

A process identical to punching of driving licenses should be practiced. For example, each govt servant will be given, say, 3 chances. First corruption compliant will mean 1st punching on the license and the employee's salary will reduced by 25%. The 2nd instance of corruption will bring it down to 50% and the job will be terminated after the 3rd. Conversely, if there are no corruption complaints reported for say 2 years, the employee will be rewarded with an additional monetary increment.
