What would make it easier for mothers to switch from full-time to part-time hours or allow them to stay at home if they so desired?

The number of mothers who would prefer full-time work has decreased by 11% in the last 10 years while the mothers who prefer part-time work has increased by 12% according to a pew research survey. It appears that most mothers, 79% according to a pew research survey, would appear to stay at home or work part-time.

Would enable full timers to go part time in an existing post by offering a jobshare partner for consideration, or for two or more mothers to apply for jobs together, saving the employer the difficulty of finding several eligible people for a single full time post.
