Look at existing business and mentally run through a situation where you'd use that business and its services. Or, actually use the business and gather data. Make a note of what annoys you, what frustrates you, what could be done better etc. Those problems you note are in need of solutions, and if you can generate solutions then those solutions may well provide business ideas that could be offered as a service to that business , or you may hit on ideas that can be used for other/all businesses. This idea is about individuals in football games rather than the whole team (I can relate to this - I had to go through my whole school life being useless at football): there could be 'exclusion zones' around weaker players. What's a Moonjee?... Make Moonjee a playful, mischevious little alien character who came to earth and spends his time changing people's faces - either for the good or for the worse! This will attract your future customers - the young folk. Older folk will ask the same question "What's a Moonjee?" and the front page of Moonjee website will answer that question. Make up some surveys - the "getting to know you" type that asks a number of questions ranging from those asking for key information (age, rough location, education) to the more outlandish (worst fears, what monster you'd like to be, who you'd like to be stuck in a lift with). Attach your name to the survey and as it spreads over Facebook people will find you. Also, the information that YOU give on the survey will help people to find out more about you. What would an online poker room need to offer to get you sign up immediately?
I've played a lot of poker online recently (on MSN Texas Hold 'Em where you don't play for money). We decided to play a game in real life with friends. The trouble is, you get used to the computer doing so much for you (check, raise, chip admin etc) and it's a little hard to make the transition from online player to real-world croupier. Why not offer a croupier-training service, where people can learn how to be a croupier (starting with virtual games)? [about 12 years ago]
What would an online poker room need to offer to get you sign up immediately?
I read that there are concerns about people using bots to play poker games. So, if you're playing for money in a poker room you could, without knowing it, be playing a bot and thus you have no chance of winning. How to address this problem? Maybe have a poker room where you can see all the other players playing by webcam. [about 12 years ago]
What would an online poker room need to offer to get you sign up immediately?
Here's a problem: you are half awake at some time in the morning and wonder what the time is. You know if you look to your clock you will wake up even more and will have trouble getting back to sleep. However, you can't drop off properly again because you think the alarm clock may go off at any moment! It would be an interesting idea to receive a daily email telling me how much my power bills are for just that day. This would make me more aware of how and where I am wasting electricity and gas. There are premieres for movies (in the UK these are usually in London). I would like to see an occasion when there are about 100 premieres of a movie: these would be shown at selected cinemas around the country and these screenings would be occur at the same time as the actual premiere. This would make movie goers feel "exclusive" and that they're seeing the movie for the first time along with the movie's stars. [almost 13 years ago]

How do you know that you will find a comedy funny? Here's a possible solution: 1) The cinema (perhaps by using some device) monitors an audience watching a comedy (perhaps at a preview or at the premiere) and makes a note of the points where the audience either laughs loudest, or laughs longest. 2) The ten funniest points calculated by step 1 are compiled and used to make a YouTube video (assuming these will not spoil the plot).
